Pure Peace Kitchen Has a New Name: Stirenity
Last month I told you why this company is called Stirenity. This month I want to tell you that it wasn't always.
The whisk hasn't changed. The kitchen hasn't changed. I'm still the one behind it, still baking on Saturdays, still finding flour in places flour should not be. Only the name is new.
What happened
When I looked into protecting the name, I learned something I wish I'd known a year earlier. "Pure Peace Kitchen" describes a feeling. A lot of kitchens could claim it. That makes a name very hard to trademark.
Why Stirenity
Stir, plus serenity.
The stir is the work. The mixing, the scraping, the Saturday morning with someone small on a stool beside you. The serenity is what I hope that work leaves behind.
The peace didn't go anywhere. It moved into the middle of the word. And the tagline stays exactly as it was: sow peace with every stir.
What changes for you
Nothing about the tool in your drawer.
Same stainless steel core, fully wrapped in food-grade silicone. Same head that rinses clean in one pass. Same four colors: Warm Cream, Charcoal, Sage Green, and Terracotta Brown.
For a little while, you may still see the old name on a box or a listing while the change works its way through. If your whisk arrived with Pure Peace Kitchen on it, it's the same whisk. Nothing about how it was made is different.
This website now lives at stirenity.com. Old links will still bring you here.
What stays the same
Everything I wrote last month about what the name commits me to still stands. No countdown timers. No manufactured urgency. The honest version, even when it sells more slowly.
A new name doesn't change the reason I started. It just gives that reason a name I can protect.
I'll admit I was attached to the old one. It carried a lot. But the peace was never in the label. It was in the kitchen, and it still is.
Doughphelia, for the record, did not notice. She got fed on schedule and bubbled like nothing happened. Some things are refreshingly consistent.
If you have questions about the change, write to me at hello@stirenity.com. I read every one.
More from the kitchen
Why I Built This (The Crevice Rant)
I'm holding a traditional whisk in my kitchen, and you know what I see? Dough. Dried, fermented dough tucked into every crevice. This is why Stirenity exists.
Breaking Up Shaggy Dough Without Losing Your Mind
Five minutes into mixing sourdough, you look down at your bowl and wonder if you've made a terrible mistake. You haven't. You've just started. Here's what nobody tells you about shaggy dough.
